Jesus Doctor Santos was born in Navotas, Metro Manila on the 25th of December 1966. At his early age, he showed some fascination on digesting comic figures by reading the movements of the character rather than the story. He studied B.S. Architecture at Technological Institute of the Philippine (TIP) for a couple of years. Later on, in the year 1991 to 1992 he had an opportunity to take some seminars on portraiture at Yuri Arts in various mediums, considering his very basics on art.
He started his professional experience in a theme park company as an Artist Leadman during 1996 and as a Product Developer Artist in a European style export company in 1997.
Before the end of 1999, he became an apprentice of a world renowned artist for few years and learned different styles of art, from traditional to modern approaches. From that scenario, he then explored and developed his own style and identity and later on applied it in some parts on the ceiling mural of Sta. Monica Church in Angat, Bulacan.
He worked in K.S.A. and Qatar in 2004 to 2010, grabbing some opportunities to learn more styles of fauxing and finishes, mastering Trompe l”oeil, definitely a European touch that later on became an addition on his canvas.
In the year 2010 he decided to stay for good and start a whole new career in the Philippines. He tried to rediscover his own distinct style from his great influence Gustav Klimt by using Filipiniana concept in a very artistic and stylish way using different materials, mediums and tools.
